Hi r44,
As we have learned from Lars there are ALL KINDS of rebuilt Q-jets around with many of them being pretty much worthless.
Perhaps someone with some recent experience in buying a Q-Jet can give you some input on what to buy and where to buy from.
Sorry I can't help more.
Regards,
Alan

Purchased a Refurbished (Stage 1) Qjet from SMI, Shaun Murphy Induction, in CA recently and can attest it's a quality job. Just bolted in on my '73 BB, adjusted the choke and mixture screws and it has run excellent ever since. My 750 cfm carb $375 plus shipping.

I have a SMI carb as well. Performs as good as promised.
