Default (1973) Adjusting Windshield Wipers

So I have a 1973 Corvette & my driver side windshield wiper goes over to far & hits the chrome stripping around the window causing the Windshield wiper rubber to fall off. How can I adjust it so it doesn't come over so far?

Hi J,
I believe in 73 there was still a screw on the side of each wiper arm that adjusted the angle of the thin part of the arm that exits the base of the arm.
(GREAT description right?)
It adjusts the amount of 'sweep' of the arm on the glass.
In the AIM it's referred to as Screw 'A'.
Some pictures:

Alan

This is it on the side of the arm:

Underside of the arm with cover plate removed. You can see what the screw does:

Good advice there Alan and as always your pictures are terrific!
I had the same problem some time ago and if I recall the wiper arms only had that adjustment screw up to 1972 and I'm not sure if early and late wipers can be swapped over, however, there is an adjustment in the center of the linkage.

TheJinx, look behind the wiper motor and you will find two nuts, loosen them, lift the drivers side wiper arm and retighten the nuts. That might help a little.

Hi P,
Thanks!
I wasn't sure how long that screw 'A' adjustment continued. Perhaps it went away when the wiper door went away?
Here's a pic of the linkage you and and the drawing you posted describe.
Regards,
Alan

Jinx, the 73 has the A adjustment screw,Alan is correct.providing you have original wiper arms.check your wiper arm orientation then adjust screw A.

Screw A... went away in the early production of the 1974 model. Cars built prior should be adjusted in this manner.
