VancouverL71, have you tried using a flashlight or backlighting your tank sticker? Sometimes light projected up from the backside will show more detail.
Never tried that Revi, but I will! Thats a pretty good idea. I know there are a few other options hidden as my car is PS and maybe another surprise.
Thanks for the Tip, will let you know.
Hi 427/390,
I really didn't do anything special to 'decipher' Pete's sheet.
You're fortunate ,I think your sheet is pretty readable.
I believe Zone '9' is the Ohio area and many of those dealers are known. It's too bad there's not hint of the dealer number.
The black exterior/interior was a hot combination.
A bb, automatic, 3.08….. perhaps the buyer intended to put some serious highway miles on it.
I find it interesting that the tire option was changed by hand. Was there a period when the red stripes weren't available?
Also interesting is that it has p/b but not p/s.
The 'Job Number' appears to be 127… have you seen this written in crayon any place on the body?
The order number A1S430 would also appear on the Window Sticker. That would tie THIS sheet to a particular VIN.
Regards,
Alan
69, Black/Black, Big Block, Coupe. NICE!!
Hi Alan - It's a big help that you could tell me Zone 9 is Ohio as that syncs with the rest of the car's history that I've cobbled together..also, factory alarm and chrome vent trim...black on black, BB coupe, P/B (and no p/s which is a bear) 3.08 rear, TH400, AM/FM...In my work on the car, I have not seen the job number "127" but I will be looking more carefully...Thanks for the help
Hi 427390,
Wow!
That's quite a terrific looking car!
Is that YOUR work?
You really need to start a thread and post some pictures for everyone to drool over!
Regards,
Alan

Alan - I've seen your car and your work and I've learned tons from reading your generous posts and you always seem to have the picture that anyone needs (and at the right angle)....So on my car, I had a "star crack" on the hood from the air cleaner rod (don't ask) and rather than paint the whole hood, I did the matte black striping this winter (fix crack, prep and rattle cans)...Car has original matching # 427/390 and TH400...the engine is on a dolly and the tranny is sitting in my shop. Replaced them with a 500HP aluminum headed crate engine and a Hughes TH400 and converter...Engine looks like this (sorta my take on how the factory might do a subtle dress of a hi po motor)...
Hi 427390,
Hood stripe is a pretty ingenous solution to a star. Well done!
That sounds like a serious combination and a good looking installation!
It must be QUITE a bit of fun to drive!
Regards,
Alan
