Default Two Questions...

I am building a 407 for our '72 and have 2 questions (there will be many more) that I'm ready to resolve with your help. The car is a #'s matching 4-speed with the base 350.

Question 1: How can I easily determine if it has a 10.5" or 11" clutch?

Question 2: How much intake manifold can fit under the factory hood, using the stock air cleaner assembly?

p.s. The original motor will be rebuilt and set aside to keep with the car.

the data at this site lists the base engine using an 11" clutch

what do you mean by how much? Sites such as Edelbrock give you the height measurements of their manifolds. Typically the stock SB hood will not take any of the RPM series intakes.

Thanks for the link... Awesome info.

Edelbrock site shows only 1 manifold that does not have a "does not fit under stock corvette hood" disclaimer... their base Performer.

Does anyone know of any other options, maybe with higher RPM range?
