Default Rotor runout issues

OK, today was the day to get the runout on my rear rotors figured out, did all the reading up and watched the videos and help with the questions from the forum (thanks guys). Got the Harbor Freight dial indicator.

First problem was after I lug nutted the rotor to the hub and got the gauge mounted, I noticed that the hub has some play, I can pull it in and out slightly - if I'm reading the gauge correctly there is about 15 thousandths play with throws off the runout. I attached a picture from the rear end side of the half shaft, you can see part of the yoke which is bothering me, (bottom photo). I attached a photo. I can see where this half shaft let go at some point as there is some damage to the upper cross member (top photo shows dent) and there is a hole that got repaired on the interior compartment. The half shaft itself looks ok and the u-joints are tight. It is sitting on stands under the frame so the hubs are hanging down.

So - Am I looking at a bearing replacement - if so, is a trailing arm replacement better at this point. Any other observations.

Thanks, Frank

You need to rebuild the trailing arms and open up the diff and see inside. Probably the side yoke has the end worn so bad, the clip is gone.
