took the car for the stereo install at best buy.. Jesus did Bubba F up this car! there were 6 count em 6 hot leads jammed into various fuses on the panel. the wiring harness was disconnected and the car rewired to bubba's tastes. we (yes I helped the installer) removed 30-40 FEET of wire from behind the dash, rewired the harness so it's back to stock, except for a alarm that I dind't wanna mess with yet. stereo is installed and I'm prety happy with the results.
I opted for a sony cdx-mp30 it's OK decent power out to dfrive the 6x9 Pioneer TS a 6975's in the way back. Promptly blew the factory 4x6's in the dash  I have 70 MP3's in a single disc, and I cannot say I'm crazy about the performance of the MP3 feature. it seems to look forever (probably less than a minute and a half, but a long time none the less) to read the directory and the time in between songs is about 5-10 seconds in shuffle mode. I can only imagine it would be worse if there were multiple directories to read
As I started to read, I got it wrong. I thought Best Buy Bubba had f'ed it up. That would have surprised me, judging from your other posts, you seem to know better than that, just leaving it to them. It is a job on my to do list, but at 6-1 and 245 lbs, I probably won't choose to do that one my self. Did you find the unit at Best Buy and is that the place to go? thanx
I caught the unit and speakers on sale and they had "free" installation.. search my thread on THAT one :mad I was very lucky. the guy who did my car is VERY knowledgeable, and he allowed me to assist, and decide to pull the wiring or keep it. in the case of the alarm crap, I opted to leave it for now. alarms have a nasty habit of killing ignitions
