Default Another Exhaust Question

Just got my complete 2 1/2 exhaust system from corvette central. Quick question, are the pipes that go from the head pipes into the mufflers suppose to be oval shaped at all. They are round where they meet the head pipes and the mufflers but there is an area in between that is oval.


This is for a 1973 small block manual trans

Hi H,
Yes the area of the pipe that passes under the differential and spring carrier were flattened a bit originally to increase ground clearance.
