I'm getting a 3 inch exhaust put on my car and I read a lot of good things about the pypes race flo mufflers. I listened to a bunch of sound clips and I like em. My exhaust guy said to order em in 3 inch with offset inlet center outlet. When I called to order them they only offer a offset offset muffler in 3 inch. He said he can make them work but I tried searching and it seems like most people went with the offset center. Anyone here got any pics of how it looks with offset offset mufflers? Thanks.
Well nevermind it's a moot point. Summit and all the pypes dealers I called said they don't make the offset center muffler only offset offset. I got ahold of pypes directly though and they said the muffler was discontinued but they had 2 left in stock and would send me to me.
Good luck with them, I used them on a 1971 GTO, 2.5 inch, and had a horrible resonance at 2,000 RPM which with 3:55 gears is 40 MPH. I switched to Dynomax VT and no more resonance. Obviously differences in the length and size of the pipes may cause you to have a different experience.
I put Pypes Violators on last fall. They are not that bad under light throttle, and at cruise they sound great. Maybe a slight bit of resonance around 2000, but nothing to worry about. WOT though.....OMG!
Shop that did the 3 inch system did a fairly good job.
I'll post pics when I can get to them.

Not a bad looking setup and that's the offset muffler. Heck of a bend after that x pipe though. What trans crossmember is that?
I wanted the violators but I had a gto with a stall converter and man that thing would make you wanna wear earplugs. Not so much the loudness but the drone. Ibe been gun shy about to loud of mufflers ever since. That's why I went with the race pro but sounds like maybe drone is still a possibility.
My exhaust guy said 3 inch changes everything and the straight thru mufflers rarely drone.

Cross member is one of Bow Tie Overdrive's 200r4 members. Fits the th400 perfectly.
Understand the gun shy mindset. Once I put Thrush Turbo mufflers on my Firebird, and after one week I hack sawed them off. I swear they gave me headaches with the drone.......The Violators have a small range about 2000 rpms that are a bit annoying, but that rpm is rare. If I had to run in a parade for an hour,....different story.
