Hi v,
Since you mention 'coil'… are you asking about the capacitor?
The capacitor mounted on the coil bracket was part of the radio option.
It's connector is placed on the positive (+) terminal of the coil.
It's purpose is so that the ignition pulses aren't heard in the radio.
