Can one of you motorhead geeks (I say that with MUCH admiration) please help me decipher this engine that I'm about to slap into my 76. It has been modified from stock bore (40 over)and has some other goodies like flat head pistions and Summit 1108 cam, but I'd be interested to learn the details of this block. It seems to be close to the proper year (77?) but that's all I can figure...
Thanks! Diesel

3970010 is a 350 used in many Chevrolet applications. Yours was cast May 29, 1974 and was assembled in Flint, MI. The code TJY was for a C10 pickup 165HP.
How do you guys know this? Is there a reputable website that can help me decode one I have?
the nastyZ28 site is one of the more comprehensive ones, it also helps to have a large library of old GM manuals and other documentation to search through like some of us old hoarders.
