Thanks everyone,
Shooting another coat of clear on the nose today now that I got the trash sanded out of clearcoat that blew into my second coat (I should have taken Dubs advice and not used plastic to mask off the car.) live and learn.
I put two more flow coats of clear on last night to fix some rough spots. Also got my new wheels installed today... once I paint the side pipe heat shields I think it will all tie together nicely. I eventually want to lower it an inch or 2.
I am pretty happy with my budget find wheels.
I scored the tires for $50 each new including shipping.. They are made by falkens parent company and got great reviews.. The rims (vision 142's) were just under $550 shipped for 4 they are 18x 8.5" tires are 255/45/18

What type of gun, size of tip and size of your compressor?
Harbor freights new nickel plated gun which is the same one TCP global sells... 1.4 tip 12cfm. I used a no name $30 2.5tip gun for the poly primer and the purple $15 harbor freight gun for the epoxy
I used a 6hp (not really) crafstman oil less 120v compressor with a 31 gallon tank and teed that in with a coleman 3.5hp (really a 1.5hp motor) 20 gallon single stage compressor. so both were feeding the same air filter and line (also harbor freight). this was a $700 paintjob including materials for the bodywork and the paint guns/ accessories.. compressors were an additional $250 combined from Craigslist... It doesnt take big money just patience and attention to details...
I want to stress that I have no automotive training.. everything I learned to restore this car has been from forums like this and youtube. If people reading this are intimidated to do thier own work, dont be.
It is a lot of work though I wont pretend it wasnt frustrating as hell at times.. But its times like these where its very rewarding too.

Where did you find those sidepipes for a smallblock? I've been looking for months. I don't want to pay two grand!
There are only three manufactuerers of these side pipes that I could tell from the research I did.
... Hooker, dougs and all the rest are from the same manufacturer in china that distributes to many suppliers who rebrand and charge drastically different prices.(some polish the welds before packaging.) This is just a theory but It seems some of the distributor's didnt like the fact that the pipes they are selling for upwards of $1,200 could be bought for half that through the OBX distributor. I bought mine on ebay new 3 years ago for $650 shipped... The same seller still sells the big block ones the last time I checed but now sells "another brand" of small block equivalents for much more.. supply and demand... cant blame them I guess..

Those wheels look good with that new paint!
UPS says that my new wheels & tires will be delivered tomorrow.
