In my experience, the only electronic choke thermostats I've seen, are on Holley carbs. You replace the mechanical thermostat with the electric one, and run a power wire to an "ignition on" 12V source.

As leadfoot posted, if your carb is from a 77, the choke spring mechanism can be easily replaced by an electric version for about $25. If the carb is a replacement form a much earlier carb with a divorced choke, it can be converted with a setup that can be purchased on ebay for about $75.

That being said, I recently did this on my 1979. After making the conversion I switched back to the original spring style. Once the original is adjusted, along with the correct amount of pull off, I found the original style works better. The original opens from heat generated by the engine, where as the electric opens after so many minutes, irregardless of how warm the engine is.

FWIW...
Most choke problems are due to binding linkages and/or improper adjustment of choke components. If you have such problems and just convert to an electric choke, you will still have problems with it.
Your FIRST order of business is to follow instructions in the Chevrolet Chassis Service Manual (Fuel Section) to clean and re-adjust the choke system on your carb. If the carb/choke are correct for your car, you should be able to resolve your choke problems in this manner.
If all the linkages are free to operate and you still feel the need to install an electric choke, go for it!!

I would try Cliff Ruggles or Quadrajet Power for a conversion kit.
Lars Grimsrud is our Qjet expert here and he can blueprint your Qjet and set it up with an electric choke as long as it has not been hacked by a commercial rebuilder. We can't recommend him any higher.
