1980 Engine Compartment Wiring
Hey all. New to the forum but I am hoping someone can provide some insight into some wiring questions. I have 3 areas in which I hope someone will help:
1. Where does the under hood light mount?
2. I have an orange wire with a plug on the end coming out of the harness near the master cylinder that is not plugged into anything. See pictures.
3. I have blue and black wires with a black plug near the AC that isn't plugged into anything. see pictures.
Any advice would be great. Thanks

As mentioned the hood light mounts in those two holes just to the left of your hand. There are rubber expandable grommets that fit in the hole. Check out the specialty fastener section in a Lowes or Home Depot type place. I've also seen many hood lights simply screwed into the fiberglass. I believe my 79 is like that.
That orange wire I believe goes to the anti theft horn mounted on the firewall kinda under the master cylinder booster.
That blue/black connector could be this??? Not sure.

Black/blue wire.
Or, I believe 80-82 used a two wire connector at the aux fan sender on the motor. In the passenger side head between the last 2 spark plugs.
Check there.
But that type of connector usually connects to another connector.

In the long run, it would help you if you owned a copy of the 1980 Assembly Instruction Manual (A.I.M.). It has drawings for the car at each station during the final assembly process, so you can see where and how everything is installed in your car.
