Default Missing Ground??

I am in the process of putting my body and chassis back together. I have been having lots of transmission/clutch issue. I finally have that resolved. Today I drove it around the block. When I stopped I noticed my driving lights stay on with the key off and my break light stayed lit with the parking break pulled. I have most of the dash still out. I think I might have a missing ground. Would that causes the lights to stay on?

Any advise?

the gnd. wire on the headlight switch provides gnd. only for the interior lights to turn on.
your driving lights do not care about key on or off, only the position of the light switch.
the main gnd. harness for all the interior is to the left of the light switch, attached to the Metal birdcage.
you also must have Gnd. cable from the birdcage to the frame, located about where the dimmer switch is,
under the car your birdcage interior harness is grounded thru this.

you also must have the 2 main gnd. cables #1 from battery to frame under battery box.
#2 frame to engine normally located in front of the starter.

the dash brake light is supposed to come on when the emergency brake handle,
is not resting in the off position(all the way down).

I think you hit it on the head. Put everything back together and see what happens. Dollars to Donuts everything will get sorted out,
