Default 1970 L-46 Carburetor Vacuum Fitting

My L-46 has the original 7040207 Quadrajet. The TCS system was removed by a previous owner, including the vacuum fitting on the rear of the airhorn that would have connected via hose to the TCS switch on the manifold (as you can see in the picture below). The port draws some vacuum at idle, but not much. Should this be capped? I have some properly sized tubes kicking around here.

I'd like to replace the TCS system when I can find the parts to do it, but that's not for today.

Should this capped?
Good question. I suppose with GM figuring we are supposed to leave the TCS system in place there wouldn't be a need for this answer. Both of my L46's do not have the TCS hooked up, although each had the short metal vacuum line capped when purchased by me. I've left the caps on.

I may have an extra metal vacuum hose for that port if you so desire. Just let me know & I will look for it.

Hi Dave - thanks for the reply. I have a little metal vacuum hose I can put in there, but no caps. I appreciate the offer for the hose. What are yours capped with?

You can buy a little set of different sized vacuum line caps at any auto parts store. Or, if you don't ever intend to use that port/fitting again, you could just press in a little ball of JB Weld stick epoxy and call it a day.

The little tube and rubber cap would be the best option.

Autozone or Advance Auto or any store like this should sell a selection of rubber vacuum caps that can be used.
