Just purchased a 1977 Corvette that needs to be inspected but my turn signal lever is just loosely flopping around doing nothing. It has the tilt and telescopic wheel. The lever also acts as high beam I believe and wiper control. I've pulled the wheel and hub off but I'm a little scared to continue after looking at things. Any advice before I continue that may help me? Thanks!
Unfortunately the '77 dim/wiper switch is a rare one-year-only part. When they do show up the price is stupid expensive. While possible that it was used in other GM cars I haven't seen such mentioned.
Thanks for info. Just bought a steering wheel puller to get hub off. I should be down inside shortly.
you will also need a tool to compress the spring and remove the u shaped
locking ring. If you can find the chevette switch, the ebay listing is no longer valid, you have to enlarge the shoulder bolt hole and swap some wires around to get it to work. Just trace the wires on the old switch and match the new one to it. I put one in my 77 and works fine.

Working on finding a switch at the moment. I came up with a neat way of compressing the spring down and putting clip back on. I got a 2" wide roll of tape and a 7" piece of 1" flat stock steel drilled a hole in center, centered the roll inside wheel, put the flat stock on top with nut and tightened it down. Worked perfect.
