While cleaning up the previous owners mess, I found that the TH350 Kick-down cable was disconnected- thus explaining the lack of "kick down" when driving. It appears to be an aftermarket cable, and I have no brackets, etc. for mounting this cable.
Any suggestions on what brackets/parts may be needed here - or am I better off purchasing a factory style cable and re-man bracket to install on the iron manifold?
Yep, it is the "spring loaded" cable that goes down to the trans. This car had a big B&M Blower sticking out of the hood, so they installed an aftermarket throttle pedal (PITA) and trans cable. The trans cable however was never connected. As I looked closer, it appears that the throttle pedal/cable assembly was from B&M, so good chance the Trans cable is B&M as well. I will see if they offer any of the intake/carb brackets that go with this cable.
