Default Seat latch problem

Crappy pictures I know but, what holds the chrome button in? The sliding parts seem to bind at the top. What type lube should I use or? All past experiences welcome

Hi c,
There is a single screw that threads into the body of the chrome plated plastic button from the back side of the seat lock strap assembly.
It appears the 'shank' on the back of the button that the screw tightens into has been broken off the button.
It's shown in the Seats section of the AIM if you have one.
Regards,
Alan

Allan looks like u saved the day. The closer I look that long slide is in there pretty tight. I'm thinking Jb to the rescue.

Unless somebody has free shipping? Hint hint. Looks like nothing was holding it together

Hi c,
Yup. That's it.
The long thin 'pin' that's still there on the back of the button prevents it from rotating slightly in the chrome plated bezel that surrounds it.
Regards,
Aan

Thanks Alan I've got it all apart. Trying to figure out what to lube the slide with. I've got some silicone lube with a release agent I'm gonna try. I'm gonna try some JB weld because the little bit was holding it, and a new one prolly worse then this one
