 That's too funny. I can't stop laughing at this line:
"Watch your 1/4 mile times increase a few tenths of a second or more, so you can beat that car you’re racing. Or maybe you just want get up hills faster."
I went searching through some of the items that his bidders had bought and here was a big clue:
TENZO-R IMPORT RACING DECAL STICKER-FREE SHIP
Item # 1847730297
Stickers AND a resistor!!!!
I wonder if that would work with the Crossfire?
yes, a 640Ohm resistor in place of the CTS would fool the ECM into open loop and would add more fuel, results: no TCC (bad), more fuel (I doubt it would improve performance) and poor fuel economy :) If it consumes more fuel, it must be improving performance right? :) The black smoke?..... what black smoke :)
I may start selling these at 35$ a pop (hey, Corvette parts are expensive) :D
where do you think the guy gets the resistors in such huge quantities? how much do you think he is paying for each one he sells? what's it mean to powder coat it? if you can get them for at least half what he's selling them, i would most defintely buy lots of them myself and put them on ebay, that dude just made over 250.00. looks like easy money to me.
You can get strips of resistors in huge quantities at electronic stores. I'm not sure what they cost in the Us but here I can get them for like 0.10$ a pop if you buy 100 or so.
Where do you see something about powdercoat? I have a powdercoat setup so no problem there, I get the powder cheap too (free, the best price :) )

Powder coating is spraying a positively charged enamel onto a negatively charged metal part, this acts just like a magnet and causes the enamel powder to stick to the metal part, you then bake it , this creates a beautiful shiny finish that's REALLY durable.
It's the way they paint refrigerators, washers, dryers etc.
Actually, powdercoat powder is charged negative and the piece to be coated is grounded. :)
The powder is a plastic powder w/ a pigment mixed into it. It electrostatically clings to the grounded part. It's then baked and will melt and flow out to a nice smooth finish (if you apply it to thick you can get orange peeling)
Did you see the seller's name on that "turbo in a can"? Now, what do you suppose that thing is REALLY for?
I'd say those guys are lightin up something besides tires! :U
I have a great idea for a Ebay "tuner" prank. How about a taking a 2-cycle Poulin leaf blower, rig it up inside some Honda ricer. Then run a flex-hoseout the window, around to the grill and and into the air box of the ricer. Call it the "Poulin Charger"
That way the we can advertise that they'll get a cold air charge because the hose is running out the window so the air in the hose is "cooled by your slipstream." I can see it now, some sticker charged rice boy with his coffee can fart pipe, cranking up his Poulin Charger before the big race.
I see a huge potential for this product on Ebay! :D We could start the bidding at $400.00 and tell them it is "Thousands less than other superchargers..."
Remember this is my idea, so if one of you enterprising entrepreneurs decide to go to market with this, I get a cut!!!

It has been done before :) I saw a pic of a car w/ a leaf blower under the hood not that long ago. I think it was on thirdgen.org :)
