Screw you broken header bolt! I WON!
So....I decided to get creative.
1) Unbolted transmission mounts and 1 motor mount.
2) Made some relief cuts for the oil pan bolts in a 4x4, placed the 4x4 under a scissor jack and raised the side of the engine by 2 inches.
3) Made a centering jig out of some old scrap steel. (As seen in picture)
4) Cut several drill bits to make them short enough to get into the restricted area.
5) Made myself a stiff drink and started drilling:

As you can see, the centering jig was VERY tough to get centered, but it worked well enough. I let out a huge sigh of relief, left all my tools on the ground and walked away to celebrate (with another drink)
Score one for me.
Your victory might just soothe others of us who only got a bloody knuckle to show for this morning's efforts!
Well Done!
Regards,
Alan

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
broke off smooth to the head.....took a angle grinder and cut a slot and so managed to unscrew the broken bolt....lucky it was not snug up in the head....I since put in a double threaded/ended stud....I forget the term for it.....
