I have a ROD in my 69, you will love the tranny. Get the 26 spline, much stronger. If you plan on making some power I would go with a Centerforce dual friction.

Like the other poster said - more splines = more strength

Yeah, more smaller splines are stronger providing the material is the same. Analogous to fine/coarse thread fasteners in tension, as fine is stronger due to greater tensile area and smaller stress concentrations.

The 10 spline is ford and the 26 spline is chevy. If I had my choice like the others I would use the 26 spline. It is stronger.

When I was looking at clutch options for my 75 they had both listed as well. A 10 and 26. Will either of these work?

Your tranny probably has 26 spline so you have to use a 26 spline clutch. The input shaft on the tranny dictates which number of splines to use.

The 10 spline transmissions were used behing L-48's and the 26 behind the L-82. The 26 spline has a higher torque capacity but yes GM had both in their lineup.
