The first thing to address with our XFire engines is that the intake is super restrictive and actually chokes out the engine some.

Before you put money into heads and cam, consider getting a Renegede manifold. The folks that have put that intake mod on their car-- with nothing else-- swear they get another 30 HP out of the rear.

Hit up BUCCANEER on CF as he is the guy who had built up a gazillion XFire and knows what to do (and more importantly) what not to do.

The factory CFI intake is garbage for performance. the ports are about half the size of a regular small block intake. I guess the renegade intake is better but I suspect that you would need bigger throttlebodies to go with it then you have to figure out how to tune it.I'd explore some good aftermarket systems before I went down that road. the first time I saw a CFI system when they were new I thought it was a goofy system and nothing has changed my mind. some people think they look cool, but people think lots of goofy stuff is cool. good luck but I'd pass.

The factory heads are not very good .get something aftermarket.be careful on the cam.i would get one that is recommended from crane.you want the injectors and the ecm to play nice. If you want bigger you will have to change the ecm.The intake can be matched to the heads but the best is to the renegade.i would think about how much HP you really want and how much time and money you have and is factory looking important to you.$$$$$$$$
