If you don't already, please get a hand held vacuum pump. You will be able to test 100% of the system for door movement without the engine running.

I still haven't had a chance to check coolant/heat flow, but I did find out the fuse that powers the selector switch is blown. No, not in the fuse box. Under the center console someone took the cigarette lighter, AC/Heat selector and something else and wired together. Oh yes, they used a bunch of fuses including a single 30A that all 3 wires go into and if I use the cigarette lighter ( USB Phone charger ) and the AC, it blows the fuse. So I have to find the wiring diagram somewhere to find out which of the cut wires under the center console should actually be going to which connection.

Anyone have a wiring diagram that's easily read/seen? I found an assembly manual which looks great but it doesn't give wiring colors, just "plug connector A6 into X"...

Lectric Limited has good diagrams. Service manual should as well, at least 81 does.

If the fuse is blown, the fan may be kaput.

One last thing. If you get it all working, and its still cold, pull the heater blower and look for leaves/critters.

Looks like they have some great parts but I'm not seeing manuals for a '79.

Lectric Limited has laminated charts.

For service manuals, a certain online auction site works well.
