make sure the rocker cover are vented because oil can not run out if air can not get in. drill a 1/2' hole in the bottom of a plastic water bottle. cover the hole with racer tape and fill the bottle with water . turn it over to dump the water and watch how much faster the water drains if you pull off the tape to let in air

I scored a Dailey 4 stage pump off eBay. I'm going to set it in place to see what needs done.

it can if your pump creates enough vacuum.

Darn, why didn't I think of a dry sump with the tank on the passenger side when I was married, life would have been easier.

The tracks are in Colorado and Nebraska. The Colorado tracks are High Plains, Pueblo and Pikes Peak. Nebraska at Hastings.

A fully pressure balanced BBC oil pump has additional relief channels or grooves at each end to equalize hydrostatic loads across the idler gear in addition to only the driven gear. It's an old Grumpy Jenkins mod that we had to do for ourselves back in the day. I'm in no way, shape or form qualified to proclaim that it made the difference, but I've seen a couple of fairly galled up pumps from Hi-Perf builds that weren't fully balanced, while mine still looked like new last time I cracked it open. YMMV
