Seemingly Dumb, Simple, L71 Question
Are 1969, L71 Corvettes supposed to have a fuel filter somewhere? The steel line that runs over the top of the water pump in the front of the motor connects directly from the fuel pump to the inlet fitting for the carbs with no provision, or space, for a filter. I can't find that one is called out in the AIM either. What am I missing? Maybe back at the gas tank?
Thanks,
-Doug

Hi Doug,
dd's right.
The 68-69 Rochester carburator equipped engines have an external fuel filter between the pump and carburetor, but the Holley carburetor equipped engines have the internal filter his link leads to.

Alan

Thanks gentlemen. Can always count on the expertise on this forum. Never before have I tried putting a car back together that I hadn't taken apart.
