What is this ?
While dismantling my 70' Coupe Interior rear inside trim behind the passenger seat (right at the top of the seat height) this piece of foam came out.There is also one on the drivers side.
Any ideas as to it's purpose/use ?

Hi cg,
There are 2 pieces of foam shaped like that.
There'e used as a sound deadener/filler (as 69 said) on each side of the coupe 'sail' panel/upper wheel housing. The interior quarter-trim holds them in place.
There's a slightly different shaped piece used on convertibles.
