The information I could find seems to indicate the original wheels were not as 'true' as we would think or would like.
.020 to .030+ seemed to be what people reported quite commonly.
The point was made that this is another reason for careful, experienced balancing of the tire and wheel combination.

Thanks Alan I just got off the phone with Wheels Vintique they over less than .015 on there rims at one point I recall being told .012 was spec for the GM wheel. Yes you are correct about professional mounting & balancing, most shops get you out the door asap.
