Fixing to buy strut rods and wondering about the vbandp hd struts with the grease zerk. Seems to be pretty good price for struts with heims. Mid america's comp. Struts are outof stock (6 to 8 weeks minimum) and global west ones look good but are 100 bucks more. I was just wondering if any of you guys are using them and how you like them?
I have a set from VB&P and they work great. The person who really appreciated them was my alignment mechanic. He said he wished all Corvettes were that easy to do a 4 wheel alignment on.
You should check with Van Steele as they might have them.
I have had the midamerica competition adjustable strut rods with heim joints for about 10 years now...absolutely love them! Worth every penny over struts with bushings...
I have the Adjustable Strut Rods from Ricks Corvette around $110 on both my 71 and 72. They hold a better alignment and as stated above .. the alignment guy said thank you - it made it much easier and holds truer if you push the car or hit some pot holes.
With the greasable heims? If so i will probly go ahead get them. I wanted the mid america comp. Stuts but i dont want to wait atleast 8 weeks for them. Thanks fellas

Will be doing my 85 this summer...
l looked at those but was turned off because bushing are Poly. Poly has a lot of negative issue lately.
I installed the Global West in my '81. Ride is just a tad rougher but tolerable. I love 'em.
??? Solid strut rod ends make no difference in ride whatsoever. You already have a solid connection from the wheels to the diff through the axles. Isolation is achieved by the rubber bushings between diff and frame.

zwede it must be the poly bushings I used to mount the rear end to the frame then.
I seem to remember at the Differential Yokes slide in and out of the Differential.
Poly bushings will stiffen up the rear.
The side yokes should have very minimal 'in and out' play at the differential.
Poly strut rod bushing do present a problem due to the X.Y,Z axis that travel. SO...in time the poly can also begin to fail due to the inner sleeve begins to distort the poly.
Heim joint style strut rods will outlast the poly and actually are stouter due to the spherical ball that can rotate and allow the strut rod to easily travel the X,Y,Z movement without any issues.
Front differential mount bushing being in poly...will also stiffen things up and you might actually be able to 'fell' the difference...depending on how well a person knows their car.
The more poly you change out in your car can effect the comfort in the seat of your pants when you drive it. Poly will make the car respond better due to less deflection that the factory rubber...but road harness make transmit though the car more and you might feel it.
I put the adjustable rods from Ricks in a 70 a few years ago, he drives it all year round, except heavy rain and snow. Must have 20k miles on the Rods from Ricks - no issues.. That is why I did mine..
I just did not like the look of the Hemi ends.. The adjustable rods look more stock.
If they ever fail I'll replace the bushings with rubber or whatever is best at the time...
