Default Rear suspension ?

The strut rods which way is easier? Line up the top or the spindle fork first. Mine has a twist in it and I'm trying to line it up. Also who still has one of these?

I put the alignment side in first - loose and then jack up the trailing arm to align the bolt on the trailing arm. The strut rod then goes in easy.

I just did mine, inboard first then jacked up the trailing arms until the half-shafts were level, then did the outboard ends.

I have a question. Has anyone had trouble with the dual mount rear spring set up from vette brake and products. I am on my forth spring. The first two broke in the center and the 3rd and 4th are slightly delaminating.

No disrespect, but you're hijacking Croaker's thread.

Why not post your question in your own thread?

c3vetteguy, first of all welcome to the Corvette Forum.

Secondly, after 4 springs (?) dang, you don't give up easily!!!

I also have to agree with Easy Mike, your problem is significantly different from the original posters. It will best be answered by starting a new post where it will get the attention it deserves. I would title it, "Dual Mount Spring Problem".

Good luck... GUSTO

Hopefully most of them still have them. It is a needed part if the car has full exhaust coming all the way out the back. If my memory serves me correctly these heat shields began to be used when the cars started to have catalytic converters.
