Just a update and question. I ended up pulling the pan to find my retainers which I did but since the pan was off I pulled one of the rod caps to check bearing wear. Very happy with the way it looks so I decided to pull the rear main cap but can't get it to come loose. I went head and put the bolts back in but the question is since I removed the oil pump should I go ahead and replace it? My oil pressure at start up is a little over 40psi and after it's been warmed up and just above 20psi. The short block has 97K miles. Or just put it back in?
I would clean the pumps screen and put a strong magnet in a clean thin rag, or shop towel and run it over the pickup screen. If clean I would re-use it.
If metal parts :
I would take it apart and check the insides for debris.

Great thread. I’m new to the c6z and have been looking into them with the intent to do some track days with it. I was kind of under the impression they were a little more sorted though. Not sure if it’s typical on this platform but I’ve never really seen anyone be successful mix matching pads on other platforms. It has a pretty negative affect on initial bite and overall feel since they react to pressure differently. Normally that would be something controlled with proportioning. Sometimes you can fine tune with the same brands different compounds but personally I would stick with the st43 front and rear and see what happens. Those are great pads in heavier cars and less cooling. Just not great without heat in them.
