Default Tall Valve Covers

I got some Vortec heads for my '74 smallblock. I didn't have valve covers so I figured I'd get the tall ones in case I want to run roller rockers in the future. My buddy commented they may be too tall?

Richard, have you ever checked out these PML valve covers? They have an incredible variety, from 348 to 502 big block and everything in between. They have regular height and tall ones and will clear just about anything you might want to run.

They're not inexpensive, but are extremely high quality.

Good luck... GUSTO

Why would your bud be worried about that
Richard what cam you running
For reference ran stock gaskets old Vette finned covers with stock rockers never ran into interference. Cam wasnt big enough to wowrry about all that crap
You dont need full roller rockers for anything more than 120 lbs on the seat. Anyone that says you need full roller rockers for a teeny cams a fool. Maybe they wasted their money dont need to . Ran .525 lift for years with the cheapie roller tips lasted forever never broke with stock covers. Dont fall for fancy ads or wanna be advice.
Most guys dont know thier elbow from thier azzhole
If youre worries just use roller tips and thick valve cover gaskets

I swear use a larger than stock cams some guys think you need 10k in supporting mods. Most of them still thing camel humps are great. IGNORE them do some homework and motor on without spending more due to these know chit dorks.
not saying I do but you get the jist

I'm using stock magnesium covers from a 84 with roller rockers with a thick gasket on my 69. Just had to modify the oil baffles a bit. T

I'm running Roller rockers with my standard size valve covers on my ZZ5.
Im so glad they worked out cause had I gone with tall covers I would have had Big problems with the hose connections on the AC compressor.

I was thinking hood clearance, didn't even consider A/C compressor. Valve seals came today, so I will soon see.

I hear ya! I have some roller tips I will use, just because I already have them. This is by no means a big money (wasted money) project.
