Staggered Rally's on a '68 ?
My '68 currently runs its original 7" Rally wheels with 215/70 Coker redline radials. I'm due for new tires and I'm considering going to a staggered setup to put just a bit more meat at the rear while maintaining a basically stock look. My thought is a pair of 8" ('69-82) Rallys for the rear, with 215/70 redlines on front and 245 or 255/60 redlines on the rear. QUESTIONS-- Anyone see any issues going staggered in terms of spooky cornering behavior? And opinions on the look of this set up? Thanks all-

Hi 3,
The 255/70 tire is over 2" taller than the 215/70 tire.
Will that appearance bother you?
Regards,
Alan

I've run 255/60-15's on all four corners of my '73 for years.
Good Luck... GUSTO

You can easily use 245/60's on your 7" rims, and even 255/60's. The recommended rim width for the 245/60's is 7"-8.5", and for the 255/60's it's 7"-9".

I have a buddy with a '68. He has stock 7" rims on the front with 225-70s on the front and 8" rims on the back with 255-60s on the back. Looks good.
