Hi B,
I really don't understand what you're asking? 350? 427? Clutch? Fan? Direction?
Regards,
Alan

The basic drawings in the AIM represent a 'base engine' car. You need to refer to the OPTIONS section for the optional engine (BB) to see what that engine has on it.

the assembly manual has numbers for the base motor and another set of numbers for the a/c option. Online those numbers are marketed for the 427 motor. My question is do I follow the assembly manual

Check the AIM again. It's possible the AC fan and clutch could have been used on both engines (SB and BB), same as the radiator, shroud, and possibly other parts.

the December 1983 Parts and Illustration Catalog shows only one fan clutch part number for all Corvettes 1968 to 1970 and I assume the OP has a 1969 , Clutch Fan 3916141

Hi,
The correct clutch/fan combination is tricky to determine because it came to the production line as an 'assembly'.
Therefore, the number given in the AIM which is for the ASSEMBLY won't be the number stamped on the clutch or stamped on the fan.

Alan

I ran the production assembly number and the other numbers listed as opt. They came up on the internet as a fan with an eaton style clutch without a/ c. Any other research I've done says 7 blade fan, same as the BB, with the 3937771. Schweitzer clutch. As it says on the a/ c option page in the assembly manual.

This was the best part of the car that was modified. The block is good but too many people had their hands in it over the years. One of which had swapped out parts for junk. I lost in court because I couldn't legally prove it.
