Hi 69,
The threaded stud on the grill that Revi shows seats in a small bracket riveted to the fender.
The access to the nut that secures the stud is from below at the rear of the splash shield.
It can be reached using a long extension on a 1/4" drive socket.
Regards,
Alan

A universal socket or socket adapter works great and makes it even easier.
While the stated responses so far are correct methods of removal and the pictures are spot on, I'll just add that depending on the amount of possible corrosion on the stud & nut it's quite possible to snap off the stud very easily. If you have suitable access with the splash shield still in place use PB Blaster a rust breaking solution to help remove the nut. You can remove the rocker molding & splash shield and have better access to see what your up against. Just don't think it's going to spin right off, the stud(s) are not that strong and finding a very good replacement grill is not easy ( I know, believe me ). Best of luck and go slow.
