Default Lets talk Paint

Why is it that paint code 987 (Ontario Orange) looks so different from car to car? My had a repaint of 987(I'm told) and it looks like baby poop brown.

Hi D,
I can understand your dismay if you're unhappy with your new paint.
Ontario Orange, 987, was one of the 3 Fire-mist paints that were available in 71 and 72.
It has a high amount of metallic in it which makes it difficult to both mix and spray.
Did you have the painter spray any test panels prior to him painting the car?
The amount and type of light often has a tremendous effect on how the color appears.
How about a couple of photos of your car?
Regards,
Alan
