I've never heard of a run terminal. Can you explain that better for me please.I'm running the original TI ignition if that makes any difference. Thanks 69

if your running stock type ignition you will need to source power for Dist.
instead of the "Run" wire going to the starter.

The "R" terminal is the outside small terminal on the starter solenoid. It delivers a full 12v to the coil for start. The K-66 TI system uses it too.
I've not heard of the 96 truck starter before. Does anyone else have any experience using one? Only concern I have is will it clear my headers..Thanks

The high torque starters do not come with an "R" terminal and you will not need it.
Just disconnect the yellow wire at the starter and the coil and tape them off.

I just put a 96 GMC truck starter on my 75 modded L48. Starts the car nicely and provides about an inch of clearance to my headers. I have ceramic coated mid length headers and I wrapped my starter and wires for extra added heat protection.

No part#, I went to my local salvage yard and told them what I was wanting to do. I had my full size starter with me and did some measurements and a visual comparison and bought it. $40 bucks, no tax. The owned said I could bring it back if it didn't fit right or wouldn't turn the engine over properly. I had no problems with either.
