Paul, I believe what you have is a one piece cast aluminum wheel, with a machined surface, similar to a Centerline but different. American Racing, Enkei, and many others made them in the 80s. Centerline are spun aluminum, usually with a brushed type finish(or fully polished)made from two halves, and riveted together. The "rivets" on the others are cosmetic and likely screwed or even pressed in place. Nothing wrong with them; I have a set of 15x9s in my attic I am considering running. Actually, the Centerline Auto Drag is(or was)not recommended by the manufacturer for street duty; they are intended for straight line use and supposedly can leak or even split between the two halves. I'd still like a set on my 'Vette...

Those wheels are long gone. But as I remember they were in fact Enkei (Japanese). So you are absolutely correct. All I remember is that they seemed (to me) to belong on a Chevelle for drag racing, not on a Corvette. So I sold them. Great comments!
Yes....my present rears are 15 x 7's (polished aluminum) - See pic in signature, fronts are 15 x 6. Previous to these, I had the regular chrome/steel's, also 15 x 7. Cragar's actually measure 7 1/2" wide. (Saves a little weight over the 15 x 8's)
TOOCH ..U are so so right !!!!!!!! Do u know that i was just thinking the same thing about Chevy Rally Wheels how much i do like them!!! They really are a great looking Wheel and i WILL NOT BE CHANGING THEM ON MY 68 ANYTIME SOON.....
The Centerline and Cragars look good BUT the Rally wheels look awesome and timeless !!!! I will be keeping them on my 68 and put the money into another project when it arises.
Centerlines for me...i have auto drags on mine and love them but with them being two piece rims i have had to reseal them a few times over the years. Best looking old school rims IMO...

To me wheels are the most apperance effecting day two custom mod there is,
We all have different tastes and mine have even changed through out the years,
I do not like modern larger diameter wheels on classic cars, they all start looking urban to me, but lack of tires might force them on me.
I personally perfer any aluminum wheel over steal for the weight differences,
For years my favorite wheel was a 5 spoke like a thrust d, but they are way overplayed,
Turbines or fins look great on c3s if you desire an after market wheel that looks stock,
I still love slotted wheels but i always picture them on cars like veedubs and vegas,
Nothing grabs the eye and says old school custom more than a flashy chrome wheel, hence why cragar ss are a winner.
The simple fact is i have no clue what i want to run on my 69....
The threads question,
To me a centerline or fake like mine look race, dragster race straight line race, the ss look old school custom and not race....
