New issue. After changing out Strut Rods, spring bushing ,rear u joint and dif. bushing while backing off the ramp I had a popping ,roughness and a weird vibration that kinda went away. I thought maybe emergency brake stuck. The slight roughness and vibration hung on a bit and got a little better. So I'm thinking maybe that joint was a little tight. Anyway after about 30 minutes drive time I got on it a bit transmission seemed to start slipping bad in drive. I shifted to low was ok got home checked fluid was ok not burnt smelling. But it almost didn't make it up the ramps. The transmission guy said it could be the governor which I pulled and checked looked and moved alright. I keep wondering what I screwed up or is it coincidence the trans is going out. I done a little research and , only came up with Strut Rod binding. How would I check this ? Those bolts are pretty tight in the bushings.

Hi c,
How tight in the bushings are the strut rod bolts?
The strut rod needs to be able to twist a bit as it follows the arc of the trailing arm movement.
Regards,
Alan

I set them to torque specs I might put a wrench on shaft and see if they flex a bit
