Default vacuum line and A/C question

Finally got my engine back and everything's working good except for the A/C. It blows cold air but only from below, not thru the dash vents. We cleaned up a lot of emissions vacuum crap but what about this? Comes out of the manifold and splits and goes to the headlights and thru the firewall to the A/C controls but what about the small line that is capped on the headlight line? Looking at the diagram it looks like maybe cruise control, which I don't have. Is that right? Is this my problem or do I have to tear the dash apart now to fix it?

Thanks, guys

Hi CS,
The small vacuum line coming off the check valve runs to the headlight switch.
The nipple with the cap on it is likely the vacuum supply for the heater/a/c control.
Regards,
Alan

There should be a small 1/8 inch line coming out of the fire wall just a few inches to the right "setting in car" of the line with the arrow and a few inches lower ,that line will go to you're heating ,ac control .That line plugs into that T where the plug is.I just installed my engine and trans also and looked at the same thing the line was hanging down behind the engine and was hard to see but I found a pic of an C3 engine on line and saw that line ,went in the garage and found the line and plugged it in.

Thanks, I remember there was a small line teed off it but for some reason they plugged it. Now I just have to find where it's supposed to go.
I've got an AIM, hopefully it's in there.

The vac line goes from that T thru the firewall to a T under the dash where one line goes to the heater switch above the box on the right top of the heater box ,than the other line goes to # 1 position on the heat AC vacuum control unit.

Thanks again. Hope I can find it. Not sure why they plugged it.

I found the line just laying there loose, plugged it back in and voila......A/C thru the vents

Wish everything was that easy

Had the exact same problem the other week and I too found the vacuum line just laying loose in the engine compartment. I plugged it into the T you have shown and just like you, voila, A/C vents now working. I could hear a hissing from somewhere, so I knew a vacuum line was loose somewhere.

I would suggest that you start a new thread and ask your questions. Piggy backing on a 8 year old dead thread isn't the correct way to do things. Cheers.
