Default Fan removal

I would like to freshen up my fan (79 L48). It looks like it can be removed from shroud by unbolting the 4 nuts. Does it just come out without removing anything else.

Keep an eye out for a yellow, or maybe blue, paint marking on the fan center and one of the bolts to indicate the orientation for reinstallation. Not sure how much difference it makes but FWIW.

Go slowly or you could be removing the skin off a knuckle or two.

I usually have to wedge a long screwdriver between 2 of the nuts to keep the fan pulley from spinning while i break the nuts loose, but yeah, this should be a pretty easy removal.

Thank you guys. Got her out prepped and its drying in the sun as we speak. Knuckles already beat to He--, as I am putting the motor back in my 65 Goat.

I used to have a '70 Lemand sport convertible, I upgraded to GTO and well beyond status 462, 400, 12 bolt rear, DPFI and published Feb '95 issue High Perf Poncho Mag....I did it in '92.......

it went well with my '72 vette that also has DPFI in it......used to put the top down and tow the boat, called the rig.....The boat and the Goat....
