Default T top Front trim

Hi my wife helped me cleaning the trims. She thought i have all seals rubber and wheatherstrips new. She demounted the small rubber on the front trim and now i have the original trims for my 1974 corvette but without the rubber strip. Did someone know where to buy these rubber?

Hi Joerg,
WELCOME!
A 74 in Germany!!! Good for you!

One of the vendors on this site, Willcox, has the stainless steel trim WITH the rubber strip.
I don't know if they have the rubber sealing strip ALONE or not.
You can contact them through this site to see if they can help you.
Regards,
Alan

Could you please send me a 2018 TTRS in Daytona Gray?
They're not available in the U.S. yet.

Hello Joerg, and WELCOME to the forum!

I have not seen the molding seal you are referring to sold by itself. You can buy new front moldings with the seal installed, just not seal itself. They cost about $65.00 from many vendors. For example, here is one from CorvetteMods.

C3 Corvette 1968-1978 T-Top Front Moldings - Stainless Steel

Now, if you are handy, you can make new seals yourself. I did this. What I did was to gently pry open the channel that the seal sits in, just enough to install the new piece. Next I cut a section of 7/64" windshield washer tubing to the length I needed. (Here is the part you need to be CAREFUL with!) --> I then sliced the tubing with a razor blade from end to end. The tubing is ribbed, so I followed one of the ribs to ensure a straight cut. Next I opened the tubing and installed one end in the open slot in the molding. The tubing now forms a round bead the length of the molding. Then I carefully re-pinched the molding closed to hold the new seal in place. When finished it looked like a factory new piece and provided a tight seal between the t-top and the upper windshield molding when installed.
