Thanks Brian.

Hummm. Wonder where I could find a Railroad Tie around here. AND someone to cut it up for me.

Hi Steve,
The 'top' of my jack stands are 'cupped' just enough so they sit rather nicely in that area you have marked 'beveled'.
It depends on the configuration of the jack-stand though if that's an option for you.
The slotted hole that PB describes as being for the 'transport hook' was also used for the rear mount for 69 side pipe mufflers. ???
I use blocks of wood as a 'safety' too on occasion.
Can't really have 'too much' holding the car up!
Regards,
Alan

P.S.: Wasn't that one crane leg in the way?
It didn't get in my way, enough room for the transmission jack to slide the transmission in and out.

Is it possible that the chasis would bend in the front if you don't use the suggested jacking points?

I found this link http://corvettec3.ca/ramps.htm
Have not tried it but looks like a good idea for your project.

WOW!

Fairly incredible, but obviously works!

Thank you for the link.

Hi,
I really wonder about just what sort of work can be completed using that system?
So many things we do require much better access to the chassis, that the weight of the car be off the suspension, and that the wheels be off the car.
?

Alan

That is why I used ramps at each wheel. If I needed to work on 1 wheel I would place a jack at that location only and work on the wheel required. When I remove the complete rear end, I placed 2 jacks to support the rear and a complete removal. Leaving the ramps for the front wheels. Also having access from the side it helpful as well.

Now if money doesn't come into play.

Items like quickjack

Or if you have the space 2-4 post lifts.

I made tire cribs similar to Richard454. I did not go as high, but I made an insert that allows me to get a little higher, if needed.

i dunno- looks like too many distractions in the background. No wonder nothing has been added to the frame😄

BTW, always wondered about this cutout.
Is it an Assembly Line attachment point or something along those lines?

Steve
The only use that I know of is the rear mount for factory side exhaust, which was a '69 only option, although they can be added to later C3's.

Thanks Roger. I'm putting some Hookers on, and now that I know what those holes can be used for, I'll come up with a fabricated Mounting Plate to hang them from.
