vacuuming the system is the last thing you do before recharging the system. Have you worked on AC systems in the past?
It is obvious that this person does not know about A/C systems and should NOT begin to do anything.
This system is not as easy as current marketing is trying to 'brainwash' people to add their own Freon and get their own A/C system correct again. IT IS NOT THAT EASY ALL THE TIME!!!
KNOWING how much Freon to put into the system and what type of Freon and OIL is important.
I am ALL FOR someone doing something themselves...BUT...this is not one of those times.
IT would be BEST if they would pay someone who has the correct tools, gauges...know-how and the 'tricks' of the trade to know what to do if they see that something is wrong.
I have some questions about my a/c in my car. When evacuating the a/c lines of moisture, what kind of vacuum do y'all recommend? Also I need to replace the compressor along with the accumulator drier. When i vacuum out the moisture, should i replace the accumulator drier first then vacuum out the system? or should i do vice versa?
Also for the refrigerant, what brand do y'all recommend?
Since the accumulator is part of a sealed system you have no choice but to replace it before vacuuming it down.
Is this part of a conversion to 134A for your system?
I used one of these for years before I bought a real vacuum pump. You need a good compressor for it to work. If you have an oiless compressor that probably won't have enough CFM for it to work.
