Replacing the fuel lines in a C3 FYI
The fuel system in my 73 C3 454 needed a complete overhaul including the pump Carburetor fuel pipes and tank. Replacing the fuel lines with stainless tubing from a well known vender was a bit of a challenge since to do it properly would have involved removing the body; the curved sections of the lines through the frame to the rear of the car presented significant difficulty. I decided to resolve this with three foot sections of braided SS hose with compression fittings - cutting out the bended sections and replacing them with the braided SS hose. These hoses were particularly expensive, normally used in high-pressure industrial applications but it made an impossible job relatively easy. The work is now progressing with relative ease.

Thanks for 'sharing'. SS is not particularly good for fuel line as it is very stiff, difficult to bend, and can crack when you bend it. Regular steel is much more forgiving and you can bend/unbend it in places during installation and not end up with a trashed line.
Glad you got it worked out.

Body 'On' Installation
That was a good workaround. Maybe it is common knowledge on this board, but we judged a C3 last year where the owner installed a new line with the body in place. He said it was crazy hard but he got it done.

.... doubt that it was a stainless line....

Hi,
Installing the line, even in stainless, is very possible ONCE you cut out the piece i replaced with braided line.
An option for some people, but simply not for others.
The same is true for the vapor line on the driver's side frame rail.
Regards,
Alan

also dont rule out the coated steel tubing. i put it on my car after i noticed that manufacturers are using it now. while not as showy,
it does offer the corroision protection of the stainless and as previously mentioned , steel is just a little less brittle.
