Default Headlight question about springs

Hi!

My headlights has worked fine until yesterday...
This problem started when I noticed that one of the springs on the right headlight was hanging loose, so I put it back in place where it should be -and now that light won´t go down anymore...
(The spring I removed was on the outer left side of the light)

I guess I have to remove that spring again to fix this problem??
Anyone else had this problem with the springs?

Did you possibly knock off the vacuum relay hose while reinstalling the spring?

You may have a leak in the actuator or relay, here's how to test parts.

Hi c,
The headlight door mechanism and spring connections should look something like this.
Perhaps the linkage needs to be adjusted a little bit so the actuator can pull the door closed from the locked 'up' position?
Regards,
Alan

Are you speaking of the little springs on the headlamp bulb buckets; or are you referring to one of the springs on the main mechanism?

If the latter, I suspect you have had a part failure in the mechanism and the spring just fell loose because of that failure. Check it out well....there is likely a broken piece in there somewhere.

Hi Alan!

I now disconnected the first spring from the left side (as it was in the first place when the lights worked) and now the lights work again!
I guess the vacuum system must be a bit tired when it won´t work with all four springs connected?

The right sided light comes up a bit later than the left one and is much slower when rising.

Would there be any idea for some wd-40 lubricant somewhere??
