Yes Sir, it looks exactly as Len's photo's and yes I have the script on the side windows.

The glass with the Scribe was used until gone... it was void on 76 and later cars... 75 cars were a mixed bag of nuts.... but I "think" my build date is earlier than Max's so IDK
I'm looking at the VIN sequence number to estimate the date.... 424354
Possible maybe glass was replaced on my car ... I know that the windshield was for sure...

Interesting thread as I have a 1975 factory A/C convertible and never paid much attention to the vents previously. I honestly thought they were a vanity/styling item. I'm unclear what function they serve as related to the A/C system? I replaced the 4 screws on each recently as they appeared tired but did not pay any attention to what may have been under the grills. Now I'll obviously have to poke around a bit more as I am concerned about whether I have functioning drain tubes. My car does not have Astro script on the windows but had also led a hard life with some known bodywork so it may also have new windows/rear clip even...
Hi H,
On cars with 68-72+ cars with the a/c option the vents and plenums served no purpose.
The plenums were blocked off with metal plates in the rear compartment of the interior.
The question here seems to be… when during production were the plenums eliminated and the shallow tray, that Len first pictures, begin to appear?

Alan

The other question is when did the rear bulkhead move forward, and my guess is convertibles only, so the plenums were completely outside of the interior and eliminated the drain tubes. And did it move on all cars, coupe and convertibles.
This topic seems to come up a lot lately. I'll go snap some pictures on my convertible for the record.

Hello, I am a little late to this thread. But my 74(New car to me and also my first car) has the same problems. Vents like it has drainage tubes but it doesn't. and, like others. mine is also leaking.
How can I do this myself? Can I even? Its leaking so I have to fix it, I don't want to reseal the screws and have the water just sit.
