Default Date Codes

1968-1969 Corvette Camaro Chevelle Heads L88 L89 Aluminum Snowflake Heads, did all heads have a date code? I have a set #3919842 and there is no date code. I didn't think there are any aftermarket, so I think they are originals.

Should be on the underside on the intake side cast on an intake runner.

If they are aftermarket, they probably wouldn't have the Winters logo or GM casting number. Maybe they were originally bought at a Chevy parts department??? These on ebay have no dates,

Many OEM GM parts are undated if they are service replacement parts.

Thanks for the information. Do you think they are they are worth the same as dated heads?

All things equal regarding condition, for a restorer, no, properly dated parts are worth more, especially when those dates are visible without removing parts. OEM service replacement parts are second. Whether they are a 'close' second or a distant second gets complicated. Watch eBay closed auctions for a while. You will see a pattern develop. I have no personal insight into your specific parts. Good luck.

This same question was asked in 2011. Somebody found a stamped date code under the valve cover near the Intake ports.
