Steering Column Upper Bearing Preload Cup?
I have an '81 T&T column that I am working on.
My column did not have the part under the spring in the photo.
Is this part used on our columns? If so it looks as though I'm missing it.

This might be it on the bottom, but inverted.

I believe I see it between the steering wheel and wiring for the turn sign switch. It's at about 4 o'clock.

Yep. That has to be there so the spring has a seat.
And I'm curious-- what is the diameter of your steering wheel?

Are we havin' FUN yet? LOL
You can almost build the full column before you need that part.

I just did build the full column WITHOUT that part. Someone prior to me left the damn thing out.

You could assemble, put the column back in the car, then just pull the wheel when you get that cup. Just a thought.

The column is in the car. No turn signals or horns. So I was going back into the column anyway.

The part I received was not the correct size. I didn't have that piece in my column to begin with. It's been working that way for the time that I have owned it. So I reassembled the column without it.
Now I'm fighting a turn signal switch issue. But that is another thread.
