"71 Throttle control solenoid (C.E.C)
"71 4spd, throttle control solenoid ( C.E.C.) comes on 75% of the time when it's supposed to and ups the idle; comes on for 30 seconds when ignition is turned on, comes on in 3rd gear, comes on in 4th gear but does not come on when A/C is turned on ??? Any ideas where to start looking??? The schematics do not ever show how the A/C controls the TCS. A relay perhaps ??? thanks for your help!!!!

From what I read in the 71 Emissions Theory Publication it doesn't appear the CEC solenoid comes into play with the operation of the a/c system.
I'm unsure if this helps or not.
This is copied from the 71 GM Chassis Service Manual.
Have you seen it?

That is my suspicion Alan. Even though manuals on later C3s state that the idle is kicked up when the A/C is on. I haven't read a shred of evidence that states that that is true with the 71. Thanks for your help!
