My 1977 Corvette starts and runs great when cold. If I try to restart when it is still warm it has no power. I have replaced the starter, carburetor, steering column and continue to think it is an electrical problem. Any ideas.
I had my neutral safety switch go out intermittently and i had the same symptoms. For whatever reason it was fine cold but once warmed up it failed, not every time but most times.
You could try moving the shifter in and out of "P" (assuming an automatic) then retry starting to see if it has any effect.
I think Sullyman nailed it. The extra heat under the hood of C3s causes the "Modge" to expand. That breaks the circuitry, no spark until cool-down. Pretty easy to replace. Buy a new one, keep the old one in a rear compartment with the tools to replace it for emergency use.
